Data Deletion
Data Deletion Instructions
This page explains how users can disconnect Instagram account access and request deletion of data Gridsync stores from connected accounts.
Last updated: April 26, 2026
Disconnect in Gridsync
- Open Gridsync and go to Settings.
- Find Instagram connections.
- Select Disconnect for the Instagram account you want to remove.
- Gridsync deactivates the connected account and removes the stored access token for that account.
Request deletion by email
Email privacy@iamrittle.com with the subject "Meta Data Deletion". Include the Instagram username, workspace or app account details needed to verify ownership, and whether you want connected account data, imported media references, drafts, schedules, and publishing history deleted.
What we delete
After verification, Gridsync deletes or de-identifies connected account data associated with the Instagram account, including access tokens, connected account records, profile references, imported media references, draft associations, publish jobs, and publish attempts where deletion is technically and legally permitted.
Remove app access from Meta
You can also remove app access from your Meta account settings. If Meta sends a deletion request for your app connection, Gridsync will process it according to this deletion policy once the request can be verified.
Timing
Deletion requests are reviewed and processed within 30 days unless a longer retention period is required for security, fraud prevention, compliance, or dispute resolution.
