This policy explains what Gridsync collects and how connected Instagram account data is used to provide planning, media sync, and publishing features.
Last updated: April 26, 2026
Information we collect
When you connect an Instagram Business or Creator account, Gridsync may store the connected account ID, username, profile image URL, account type, authorization details needed to keep the connection active, media references, post drafts, selected media, scheduled publish times, publishing status, and publishing history.
How connected Instagram data is used
- Identify the Instagram account selected by the user.
- Import recent Instagram media into the planner only when the user syncs content.
- Prepare and publish content only when the user enables live publishing.
- Show profile, media, scheduling, and publishing status inside the app.
- Help the user disconnect accounts and process deletion requests.
What Gridsync does not do
Gridsync does not sell connected Instagram account data, use it to build advertising profiles, or train AI models with it. Content is published only through actions the user configures in Gridsync.
Sharing and service providers
Data is used to operate the planner and publishing workflow. Service providers such as hosting, database, storage, and serverless infrastructure providers may process data only to provide those services to Gridsync.
Data retention and deletion
Users can disconnect an Instagram account from Settings. Access tokens are removed or deactivated for disconnected accounts. Users can request deletion of stored connected account data by following the instructions on the Data Deletion page.
